Rev.
Shelley Heller comes from an upbringing in the Army.
Her father was a Colonel and moved often and the
family lived in many states and countries. She
attended college at Davis and Elkins College in
Elkins, West Virginia, graduating with a Bachelor of
Arts in Education. She had four children and at one
point, they all lived an adventurous life driving
around the country in a school bus purchased from
the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Needless
to say, this was during the 60’s and 70’s.
In 1981, she attended the University of South Dakota
School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate
in 1984. She then practiced law in the state capitol
of Pierre, working as an Assistant Attorney General
prosecuting child abuse cases, and then opening her
own law practice.
Just prior to the death of her son from cystic
fibrosis, she discovered Religious Science, became a
dedicated practitioner, and completed ministerial
school in 2004. She has a certificate in Hospice
Training and worked as a chaplain in Washington D.C.
for three years. She loves kids and has been the
director of the Eastern Conference children’s
program for four years, and last year took on the
teens! She is an avid reader and delights in the
metaphysics of everything. She dabbles in painting,
enjoys speaking and teaching and her four
grandchildren. She is dedicated to the growth of
everyone at United Life Church, a center filled with
love, wisdom and great joy.
Dr. SuZ Ogden,
Minister of Music
SuZ has
taken her experience with blues, folk, country,
gospel, and honky-tonk music to create a music she
calls AngelTonk. She has traveled the world and
worked with such notable people as Deepak Chopra,
Mark Victor Hansen, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer,
Barbara DeAngelis, John Gray and many others working
for the enlightenment of planet earth and its
people. She has been featured on both radio and
television throughout the United States and in
Moscow, Russia and Kiev, Ukraine. While in foreign
travels she experienced how music truly is the web
for Peace on Earth. SuZ says, “There are only seven
notes and twelve sounds and they all translate the
same in every language.”
She has been music director for Religious Science
International, United Church of Religious Science
Asilomar and Eastern Conference retreats. SuZ was
awarded the honorary Doctorate of Music from United
Church for her thirteen year contribution toward
raising the awareness of Science of Mind through
positive music. She has ten recordings of most
original music to her credit.
SuZ currently resides in Oklahoma City, Ok. serving
as Minister of Music. She continues to write,
record, present and produce music that lifts the
hearts of humanity. She is excited about working,
watching and growing together with her partner, Rev.
Shelley and each member of United :Life as they come
together to hold the space for United Church to
blossom into more than it has ever been before.
